Pet 2 Tingo is a joint venture between Kelie Kolanko and her Dad, Mike Doney. The farm began as an affirmation of life after the unexpected death of Bety Doney, Kelie's mom and Mike's wife of 56 years. Kelie and Mike feel that working with these beautiful spiritual animals provides a positive focus and serves as a tribute to Mom. To that end, the farm's first cria is named for Mom's favorite Christmas song, Tingo B's Silver Belle.
To fulfill the Pet 2 Tingo breeding goal of establishing an exceptional colored herd, we selected foundation females from local farms offering the best in colored genetics. As a result, our herd features award-winning alpacas from renowned, proven bloodlines, including rare colored Accoyo genetics. Our alpacas range in color from brightest white to darkest true black.
Pet 2 Tingo is proud to announce that Mike and our premier herdsire, Tag Zendo's Jimi Tingo, will be featured together as 'Mr. October' in the 2008 Columbia Alpaca Breeders Association calendar. The calendar, in tandem with a CABA Herdsire Auction, will be released February 2, 2008 with proceeds going to the association.
Pet 2 Tingo is excited about the future for both the industry and the farm itself. This summer promises to be a banner year for Pet 2 Tingo with cria from Alpacas de la Patagonia's Trauco, Alexander the Great, 6Peruvian Zen Do and Pacific Crest American Accoyos Centurion expected this summer.
We are a small farm, but we know good alpacas when we see them...

To design a dream herdsire with the best odds of producing exceptionally fleeced cria, it would be universally accepted that Accoyo and Hemingway genetics should be included. To be more precise, you'd be best served having genetics from the rare Accoyo B line. Bred specifically for fineness and perfect fleece uniformity, these alpacas average 1-3 microns finer than the more common Accoyo Plantel Line. Adding Hemingway genetics to the mix only ups the ante. Hemingway is also world renowned for consistently producing some of the most uniform, fine and beautifully crimped cria. An alpaca from this combination would not only be rare, he'd be a dream.
Voila, you have your dream alpaca here in the form of Tag Zendo's Jimi Tingo. Jimi can boast to be sired by the Accoyo B line 6Peruvian Accoyo Zen Do. Originally from Pacific Crest Alpacas, Zen Do was noted by Greg Mecklem as having the best yearling histogram he'd ever seen and is the only one he knows of with 0 fibers over 30 microns (a very heritable trait).
But Zen Do isn't the only notable male in Jimi's pedigree. Accoyo Vengador, Accoyo Pachacuti and Peruvian Hemingway are also included to make this 7/8 Accoyo herdsire a male of superb potential. To underscore this fact is his list of impressive awards for both fleece and halter competitions and his superb fleece, which is even finer than what his esteemed sire's was as a yearling.
Reserve breedings to Jimi today for a relatively inexpensive opportunity to bring rare, elite fleece genetics into your herd.
